Whitey Bulger’s apartment

The Princess Eugenia complex, a 27-unit building, is two blocks from the ocean and once was home mainly to art scholars.

According to property records, which were poorly kept at the time, James “Whitey’’ Bulger and Catherine Greig moved into their two-bedroom unit in April 1998 - paying just $863 a month - but some neighbors say they were there a couple of years earlier.

By then, young professionals and retirees had taken over the building, people who were curious enough about one another to spark friendly conversation but often too busy or too polite to question any idiosyncrasies. See photos of the apartment here.
