    Boston, MA. 05/ 15 /09: On controversy over the planned demolition of the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum's Carriage House to make way for a major expansion/renovation. Sources inside the museum are coming forward with new research suggesting that the Carriage House is much more historically significant than the museum's management has admitted. Internal dissent has been suppressed, and for these opponents, time is running out before a board of trustees vote on Monday.     A furniture installation that was moved to the perimeter in the early 1970s to accommodate concerts will be reinstalled at the gallery’’s center for the first time in a generation. The 17th-century Dutch table and ten side chairs, carved in a 17th-century style and upholstered in 18th-century Netherlandish painted leather, will be restored and re- upholstered for display in the Tapestry Room.

    Furniture moved to the perimeter of the Tapestry Room in the early 1970s to accommodate concerts will now be reinstalled at the gallery's center.
