Ya gotta wonder whether Brady's been trying too hard in these big games. Both his execution and decision making simply is not at the level of the regular season games. But he's not the only one. Couple that with guys dropping balls they never drop, and forced fumbles falling into the wrong hands, and you get a real lousy loss. For the first 2/3 of the season, nobody could imaging the defense playing as well as it did during the playoffs. They were a bunch of overachievers who, in the end, could not clamp down when it was necessary. There's more than enough miscues to spread around.

"A glooming peace this morning with it brings; The sun, for sorrow, will not show his head: Go hence, to have more talk of these sad things; Some shall be pardon'd, and some punished: For never was a story of more woe Than this of [the Patriots and their foe]." (apologies to Wm. Shakespeare)

It is a 'team' effort, which anyone knows who has ever played on a team. One player doesn't get the glory or the blame, and Eli didn't win the game for the Jets! It was one helluva game that could have gone either way - end of story. Go Patriots . . . we love you - win or lose, but damn we like winning better.
