State’s top district court judge to retire

The state's top district court judge is stepping down, court officials said today.

Judge Lynda M. Connolly, chief justice of the district court, is retiring, said Erika Gully-Santiago, a court system spokeswoman.

Gully-Santiago said the courts had no further information to release, but a statement would be released Wednesday morning.

Connnolly, 64, is a 1974 graduate of Boston College Law School who was first appointed as a District Court judge in 1997.
