Governor signs bill allowing teachers to be armed

PIERRE, S.D. — South Dakota Governor Dennis Daugaard signed a bill Friday allowing the state’s school districts to arm teachers and other personnel with guns.

Supporters say the armed workers could help prevent tragedies such as December’s shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., in which 20 students and six teachers died.

Uck!

They can't afford to??? So they put their children in shooting galleries. Could someone tell these simpletons this is not the wild west. Tabloids everywhere are readying their first accidental shooting headlines.

Bravo!!!

Bobby the D needs to overrule Deville Deval and start the House towards an imitation of this wise Dakota move.  Every Masschusetts teacher will carry a 40-caliber Gluck.  Training to use it? That has to be negotiated by School Committees and Teacher Unions.  No uncompensated gun training time for teachers... No way Hosay. . . . Oh yeah, the Bobby the D Teachers' Gun Act will require inclusion of an automatic permit to carry concealed weapons, so every teacher in a classroom would not look like the old photo of Billy the Kid. Ammunition requirements still need adjustment. . . Any real consideration of this nonsense is idiotic and originated at Moonbat State Institution for the Deranged.

Now, boatsie, even you know that your beloved punching bag moonbats are the first to oppose this kind of idea.  Have you spiked your morning OJ again?

That would level the playing fields in Boston schools, got a class that won't pay attention or be quiet enough to let you teach? Pull out the glock...instant respect.

Are the women going to have a sholder holster? If they leave them in their purse it will just be a matter of time before a student gets a hold of one and goes ballistic.

Why arm the teachers when we can arm the kids. Thirty armed kids in a class room have a much better chance of taking down a lunatic than one teacher. It's just playing the odds!

Remember the phrase "going postal", which referred to US Postal Service workers losing it and shooting up their colleagues and neighbors?  Well, arming teachers and school personnel will no doubt increase a kind of "going academic" epidemic, when deranged teachers turn their state-issued guns on their students, colleagues, and neighbors.  What's that you say, teachers aren't under any significant stress, what with summers off and all those vacation weeks during the school year?  I guess we'll see.  South Dakota, while not exactly representative of the nation's public shool system in general, will be the new lab experiment for this situation.

One day, decades from now, people studying American History will note how crazy the US citizens went, back in the early part of the 21st century . . . . . . .
