On Day 1, defense declares Bulger a criminal operator

During the opening day of arguments in the trial of James “Whitey” Bulger at the Moakley Courthouse in South Boston, federal prosecutors introduced evidence that included images taken from surveillance videos in 1980 that purported to show Bulger meeting with various gangland figures at a North End garage that police said he used as a headquarters.
