An Acton man fled the scene of a crash in his flaming car Friday, according to police. Just after 4 p.m., Acton police and fire departments responded to 911 calls indicating a motor vehicle had gone off the road striking several objects. The crash caused the vehicle to catch fire and the operator drove away in the burning vehicle. Officers found it engulfed in flames about a half mile down the road on Discovery Way. Several witnesses said the driver fled into the woods. Acton police, a short time later, arrested the suspect, 43-year-old William R. Hamilton . He faces charges including operating under the influence and operating after license suspension.
