Boston police probe W. Roxbury death

Boston police are investigating a death in West Roxbury this morning, officials said.

Police received reports of a death on Perham Street at 8:26 a.m., according to police spokeswoman Rachel McGuire.

The identity of the victim and cause of death are still under investigation, McGuire said.

Neighbors said a man in his 50s or 60s lived alone in the home and that he was working on the home, which he was trying to sell.

“He’s a quiet guy,” said neighbor Tim Sullivan, who said he met the man just once.

A ladder was propped against the front of the house. Police wrapped a white Taurus sedan in crime scene tape and took pictures of the front of the house this afternoon.
