The just-opened Jamie Wyeth exhibition at the Museum of Fine Arts is apparently popular with patrons. The MFA reports that 2,463 people visited the Torf Gallery on opening day, which compares favorably to the opening of some other recent high-profile shows at the museum. On its first day, for example, “Mario Testino: In Your Face,” a series of the famed photographer’s somewhat bawdy images of supermodels, attracted 1,858 visitors. (The opening of “Alex Katz Prints” drew 1,420 people while 1,959 visitors ogled “Degas Nudes” on the first day.) Also, last week’s lecture with Wyeth also sold out, prompting a repeat performance to be planned for Sept. 21.
