At right is the Boston 9/11 Survivor Tree, which Mayor Walsh had just dedicated and unveiled a plaque at the Massachusetts 9/11 Garden of Remembrance in the Public Garden on Monday, May 19. The woman in red is Karin Charles, cq, of Framingham, MA, who lost her husband in the attack. The Survivor Tree is a Callery pear tree, grown from cuttings taken from the single surviving tree that remained at the World Trade Center site after the attacks on 9/11.
