Smart Growth America designated 37 walkable urban places in the Boston metropolitan area, based on the areas' Walk Scores and commercial development. Walk Scores rank a pedestrian's ability to reach a variety of common destinations in an area on a scale of 0 to 100, with 100 being the best.
