Bridgewater woman is hospitalized after escaping car fire in Bourne

A woman was hospitalized after her vehicle struck a guardrail and ignited in Bourne early this morning, according to Bourne police. Authorities responded to the crash on Roberta Avenue around 2:45 a.m. where they found the victim’s 2014 Jeep Wrangler engulfed in flames, Bourne police said in a statement. The driver, a 28-year-old Bridgewater woman, was transported to Falmouth Hospital with “apparent non-life threatening injuries,” police said. The crash is under investigation and no further information was immediately available.
