Metamorphosis Here’s a way to learn something about Franz Kafka without picking up a book or laboring over the author’s long sentences. “Pavel Schmidt: Franz Kafka—Verschrieben Verzeichnet” is a series of 49 sketches by Swiss painter and illustrator, Pavel Schmidt, each titled after the name of a Kafka character or someone the author knew.
