Steve Smith, the new man behind ‘The Christmas Revels’

After 16 years leading the Boston Gay Men’s Chorus, Smith joined Revels Inc. in March as its new executive director. On the eve of “The Christmas Revels,’’ which is one of Revels’ annual family-friendly events that celebrate ancient musical and dance traditions, Smith reflected on his first nine months at the helm. “The Christmas Revels’’ will be performed at Sanders Theatre in Cambridge Dec. 16-29 with various show times.
