New Hampshire may boast only 18 miles of coastline — the shortest stretch of any seaside state in the nation — but the wealth of sights along the way makes it seem longer. In the middle sits Rye, the first settlement in the state in 1623, a town bursting with opulence, history, and coastal majesty.
