Nightlife: the week ahead around Boston

Biting musical comedy JEWMONGOUS Sean Altman, formerly of Rockapella, brings his wonderfully crass musical comedy back to Passim with a few new songs, including “The Least Jewy Jew In Jewville’’ and “Phantom Foreskin,’’ along with old favorites like “Blame the Jews’’ and “Christian Baby Blood.’’ Dec. 29, 7 p.m. (sold out) and 9:30 p.m. $18-$20. ON TOP OF THE LIBERTY The Liberty Hotel will host a multi-floor party of drinks and dancing, with entertainment by DJs Kevin James, Frank White, and Michael Savant. GREAT GATSBY GALA Boston Swing Central will be channeling all things F. Scott Fitzgerald for this 1920s-themed swing dance party. The event will be held at the Crosby Whistle Stop in Charlestown, a whistle mill that has been converted into a dance hall. The Baby Soda Jazz Band will perform and a one-hour swing lesson is included with admission. Dec. 31, 8 p.m. Tickets: $25-$30. 21+.
