On Demand movie picks

DADDY DAY CARE ★★ ½

(Starz on Comcast) An Eddie Murphy comedy about unemployed fathers who baby-sit for a living. It’s a lethargic bouquet of potty jokes, crotch kicks, and Scooter-pie lunches. Cute has seldom been this dangerous - or this monotonous. With Regina King, Anjelica Huston, and the enjoyable Jeff Garlin. (PG; runs through Jan. 26) WESLEY MORRIS

MY BIG FAT GREEK WEDDING ★★

(HBO on Comcast) Ethnic caricatures abound in this airy Cinderella story about a Greek-American princess-in-disguise who meets her WASP Prince Charming. The surreal, tacky pageantry of a family wedding has filled many a movie, but the reliability of the genre doesn’t excuse predictable jokes, pat fiascoes, and so many stereotypes that one is tempted to seek out, or start, a Greek anti-defamation league. (PG; runs through Feb. 6)

PROBLEM CHILD ★★

(Comcast Movies: Free Movies) Or Adopted Child from Hell. Seven-year-old Junior is the terror of the orphanage, who then raises hell in a perfect suburban home. Is Junior a “bad seed’’ or does he just want to be wuvved? The movie tries to have it both ways. It tries to be a black comedy, but chickens out. (PG; runs through Feb. 16)
