Pop-country star Taylor Swift was the VIP guest at Friday’s Sundance Film Festival screening of “Ethel,’’ Rory Kennedy’s revealing documentary about her mother, Ethel Kennedy. Taylor tweeted after seeing the film, “Went to Sundance to see Rory Kennedy’s documentary about her mother. . . . It was moving, hilarious, and beautiful.’’ Rory Kennedy has directed a long list of docs including “Thank You, Mr. President: Helen Thomas at the White House’’ and “Ghosts of Abu Ghraib.’’ . . . In other Sundance news, it looks like Coolidge Corner Theatre lucked out when it was assigned “Celeste and Jesse Forever’’ as its Sundance USA film for 2012. The Sundance USA program allows select movie theaters across the country to screen festival films while the big event goes on in Utah. The Coolidge will screen “Celeste’’ on Thursday, and based on what we’re reading from Park City sources, the movie is great. The Hollywood Reporter called it a “a likably bittersweet relationship film,’’ Variety labeled it a “high-concept romantic comedy,’’ and the Globe’s own Ty Burr tweeted after a screening that “Celeste’’ is a “sweet, smart, funny LA divorce comedy.’’ The movie stars Harvard girl Rashida Jones and Andy Samberg of “Saturday Night Live’’ and was co-written by Jones and actor Will McCormack. Jones premiered the film in Utah over the weekend, and made time to hang out with her Boston-bred costar, Ari Graynor, at the afterparty.
