Billy Cundiff’s missed field goal finds a Pats fan

Like everyone else at Gillette Stadium, Dr. Terry Oder figured Sunday’s game was headed for overtime. Sitting in the ninth row in the end zone, Oder and his friends had a sick feeling. What were the chances Baltimore kicker Billy Cundiff would botch a 32-yard field goal attempt? Pretty good, it turns out. Cundiff badly shanked the game-tying kick, and before Oder could yell “ Bill Buckner ,’’ the football was sailing in his direction - and the Patriots were headed to Super Bowl XLVI in Indianapolis.
