Still searching, but wise beyond his years
Leonard Cohen, now 77, has been in his so-called twilight years for at least a decade if not two. But even his earliest songs - “Suzanne,’’ “Bird on the Wire,’’ “Famous Blue Raincoat’’ - were the work of a man well beyond his years. The older he gets, the more Cohen grows into his role as one of rock’s great bards. On “Old Ideas,’’ Cohen takes a more organic approach than we’ve grown to expect from him.
