The War Room With Jennifer Granholm 9 p.m., Current

This new nightly political talk fest features the former two-term Michigan governor digging in to the 2012 election. Granholm (left, with Al Gore, chairman of Current TV) recently told reporters at the Television Critics Association press tour that she believes she offers a unique perspective. “I’m the only person on cable, or otherwise, TV that is a former governor that’s focused on the election, politics, and policy, and so I’ll be able to show you something and listen to these guests and tell the viewers what are talking points and what aren’t talking points. I’ve delivered talking points. I know them when I hear them, and I want to be able to open the door for the viewers so they come inside and know what it’s like to be able to confront people who may be spinning.’’
