After four albums and more than a decade together, the Books are now defunct. The duo, featuring Nick Zammuto and Paul de Jong, were beloved for their frenetic sound collages built around samples they found everywhere from old vinyl records to bits of overheard conversations. Zammuto has already formed a new project, which records simply under his last name. Zammuto recently told us about five things that inspired his latest adventure.
