NFL Honors 9 p.m., Channel 7

On the eve of the Super Bowl, the league honors the men of the gridiron by handing out the MVP and the Coach of the Year awards, among others. “30 Rock’’ star Alec Baldwin - if he can pull himself away from Words With Friends - will be on hand to host the festivities, and rocker Lenny Kravitz (pictured) will perform. Perhaps he’ll retrofit his hits for the occasion: “It Ain’t Over Til It’s Over(time)’’? “Always on the Run (I Wish We Had a Passing Game)’’?

Jimmy Fallon’s Super Bowl Special Sunday, (approximately) 11:35 p.m., Channel 7

With the big game and “The Voice’’ leading him in, Fallon picked a wise time for his first road trip. In addition to visits from “Saturday Night Live’’ pals Adam Sandler and Andy Samberg and a surprise musical guest, hopefully, the live broadcast from Indianapolis will also include a repeat appearance by “Tebowie.’’

Faces of “American Idol’’ past and present Carrie Underwood and Steven Tyler team up in Indianapolis for a special live version of the genre-straddling series.

Casting a wide demographic net: heartthrob host Channing Tatum and Grammy-nominated indie-folk darling Bon Iver.
