BOOK REVIEW

‘The Lost Saints of Tennessee’ by Amy Franklin-Willis

In Amy Franklin-Willis’ appealing debut novel, “The Lost Saints of Tennessee,’’ the author quickly draws the reader into her small-town Southern landscapes of live oaks and wild honeysuckle, MoonPies and RC Cola, and weathered front porches and creaky swings. Not surprisingly, this first-person narrative falls squarely under the familiar tradition of Southern storytelling, with a poignant tale of one family’s personal tragedies and losses.
