At Victoria Munroe, final show spotlights six artists

Another Newbury Street gallery will shutter early next month when Victoria Munroe Fine Art closes up shop after 10 years in Boston. Munroe says her reasons for closing are economic. ”I have not done well in the last year. It’s time to renew the lease,” she says, ”and I don’t feel confident enough to do that.” She says she’s had ”a huge drop-off in sales” since the economic collapse in 2008. ”Corporations totally stopped buying.”
