THE THREE MUSKETEERS (2011)

Director Paul W.S. Anderson has done some underrated work making genre junk with flair, but his Dumas adaptation is a stretch. Milla Jovovich as a “Matrix’’ move-bustin’ Milady de Winter? Don’t think so. With Orlando Bloom. Extras: Filmmaker commentary; on Blu-ray, pop-up featurettes. (Summit, $26.99; Blu-ray, $30.99; 3-D, $34.99)

ANATOMY OF A MURDER (1959)

It’s a cineaste reissue for Otto Preminger’s provocative masterwork. James Stewart bookends the thematic edginess of “Vertigo’’ with the story of a small-town lawyer tackling a rape-retribution case. Extras: Preminger biographer interview; music critic Gary Giddins on Duke Ellington’s score. (Criterion, $29.95; Blu-ray, $39.95; available now)

Care to make it a double bill of European arthouse auteurs having their way with genre staples? Rainer Werner Fassbinder treads Kurt Vonnegut-Philip K. Dick territory with the story of a cybernetics engineer uncovering a corporate conspiracy. Extras: German film scholar interview. (Criterion, $29.95; Blu-ray, $39.95; available now)

THE SWELL SEASON (2011)

The eponymous folk rock duo, Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova, were a feel-good story at the Oscars a few years ago with their musical collaboration on “Once.’’ Now comes a documentary charting the reconfiguration of their relationship, romantically and artistically, over three years. Extras: Extended concert footage. (Docurama, $29.95)
