Katrina-inspired ‘Ameriville’ is Universes’ call to action

Universes’ “Ameriville,’’ which ArtsEmerson brings to the Paramount Center Mainstage this week, explores a soul-scarred nation through the prism of Hurricane Katrina and its aftermath. The show uses the problematic preparation for and botched response to the storm to zoom in on issues of race, class, immigration, and national unity.
