Boston crafts show spotlights steampunk designers

The Craftboston Spring Show puts the focus on steampunk craft, design, and artists

Mike Libby’s Insect Lab studio is full of butterflies, beetles, and dragonflies with the gauzy wings of Mother Nature’s finest work. But look closely. The three-inch beetle with the brilliant green carapace is a cyborg of tiny cogs, wheels, gears, and springs. His creations are featured as part of the Society of Arts and Crafts Craftboston Spring Show Friday through Sunday at the Seaport World Trade Center, and this year’s show will have a special focus on “Steampunk’’ design.
