The 3d Jerry Hanken FIDE Open was held last month in Stillwater, Okla. The only Canadians participating won the first two Open section places: 1st, Eric Hansen (8-0) and 2d, Alexandra Botez (6-2). Here is a fine positional game by Hansen with the Black pieces against Jim Berry of Oklahoma, a former president of the US Chess Federation. It’s a brevity that shows that Black may occasionally make White suffer.
