(Comcast Movie Collections: Just In) Michelle Williams is convincing and moving as Marilyn Monroe, circa 1957. The film itself is a stodgy period piece and self-defensive bit of grave-robbing on the part of memoirist Colin Clark (played as a young movie-set gofer by Eddie Redmayne), but Williams gets both Monroe’s insecurities and mystery. With Kenneth Branagh as Laurence Olivier. (R; runs through Nov. 22) TY BURR

300 ★★

(Comcast Movie Collections: Best of the Decade [2000s]) Hollywood action porn from Frank Miller’s graphic novel, about the mythic Battle of Thermopylae between the Spartans and the Persians in 480 BC. If you think you’ll enjoy spending two hours watching a bunch of muscled-up UK thespians in codpieces, sandals, and red capes battle for the survival of Greek civilization, run don’t walk. (R; runs through Jan. 31, 2016)

(Comcast Movie Collections: Just In) There can’t be one for all: Every generation has its remake of the Dumas classic. We get this “Young Swords’’ version, with Kiefer Sutherland and Charlie Sheen along with Oliver Platt and the even younger Chris O’Donnell. Tim Curry and Rebecca De Mornay bring juice to the villains, and the stars bring energy to the swashbuckling. (PG; runs through Sept. 30)
