Sudbury doubling as Vt.’s Underhill for ‘Captain Phillips’

Don’t be confused if you visit Sudbury and Town Hall says “Underhill.’’ Crews with the movie “Captain Phillips,’’ which stars Tom Hanks as ship captain Richard Phillips, who survived being taken hostage by Somali pirates in 2009, have turned Sudbury (or its town hall, at least) into Phillip’s Vermont hometown, Underhill. The movie costars Catherine Keener and David Warshofsky, who was in “There Will be Blood’’ and “Taken.’’ The town clerk’s office told us Wednesday that despite the temporary sign, Sudbury is open for business.
