HeArtbeat Collective’s Drum, Dance and Sing

Eight months out of the year, the HeArtbeat Collective meets for “Drum, Dance and Sing.” Friday’s drum night is the last of the season. “It’s an interfaith, collective gathering, very agnostic,” says HeArtbeat Collective Events Director Jason Cohen. The dance is loosely based on the tradition of a drum circle, and incorporates a circular dance. “It’s like an organic trance dance, really,” says Cohen. “We want people to bring their own kind of expression to the circle.”
