Time pieces The late George McFadden loved to make things, and the former Winchester resident put his imagination to work designing jewelry, creating mechanized displays for department stores, and coming up with automated devices for circus acts. During retirement, his passion was clocks, particularly cuckoo clocks. McFadden built whimsical clocks, which are on view at “Enchanted Clocks of George McFadden.”
10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. (ongoing). Free. The National Heritage Museum, 33 Marrett Road, Lexington. 781-861-6559. www.nationalheritagemuseum.org

Nothing but the truth We couldn’t resist sharing these trivia tidbits from imdb.com. Yanni’s name is Greek for “John with golden hair”; the composer and keyboardist is self-taught, has perfect pitch, and can’t read music; when he was 14, he broke the Greek National record for the men’s 50-meter swimming freestyle. Oh, and he dated Linda Evans from 1989-1998. At “An Evening With Yanni” you’ll be treated to career hits and tracks from his latest album, “Truth of Touch.” 8 p.m. $34.50-$99.50. Providence Performing Arts Center, 220 Weybosset St., Providence, R.I.

Forsyth Chapel at Forest Hills Cemetery, 95 Forest Hills Ave., Jamaica Plain. 617-524-3150. www.foresthillstrust.org
