The deal: The Ocean Club starts off its third season with a bang: three nights of music featuring big-name DJs. And with different styles of electronic dance music each night, there’s something for everyone. Friday, Grammy-winning producer/DJ Skrillex rocks the 62,000-square-foot venue. “He’s arguably the most in-demand DJ in the world right now,” says Ocean Club co-owner Sam Sokol. Saturday features Christian Arango, and Nicky Romero arrives on Sunday. The Ocean Club boasts cabanas around the perimeters of the venue, tables near the stage, basketball and volleyball courts, and scantily clad servers. “We’re going for that outdoor, Miami-Vegas type of venue that Boston really doesn’t see,” says Sokol. They’ve already booked 25 DJ performances for the summer.
The DJs: Ocean Club resident DJs Bamboora and Dirty Dek open for the main acts. “There will potentially be some local DJs in the side room we call ‘Bed,’ ” says Sokol.
Expect to hear: Each of the three featured DJs has a unique style. Skrillex incorporates a lot of dubstep, the Colombia-born Arango’s house music hints at his Latin roots, and Romero spins electro.
The tip: “Get there early,” says Sokol. Also, if the main bar is crowded, there is another bar called the Reef around the back left side of the venue.
