Trumpeter’s tapes There was a public and private Louis Armstrong, and the jazz trumpeter and singer taped lots of after-hours chats with his wife, buddies, and colleagues that reveal the latter. North by North End The weekend of the last August Sunday is reserved for the annual Saint Anthony’s Feast, which was started in 1919 by Italian immigrants from Montefalcione in Avellino. At the 7 p.m. opening ceremonies there’s a blessing of the Saint Anthony statue and a short street procession followed by a weekend of parades, cooking demos, music, and lots of food.
