Critic’s corner: What’s on TV this weekend?

Saturday Night Live 11:30 p.m., Channel 7

Life is change, how it differs from the rocks. I just came up with that saying. Just kidding. I borrowed it from a Who song. Just kidding. I knew the song was by Jefferson Airplane but I thought I could get away with it. Just kidding. Just kidding. OK, I miss Kristen Wiig (above) a lot, no kidding, and Andy Samberg, too. But I’m also interested in seeing how the show will fill the gap as the season progresses. Tonight’s host: Joseph Gordon-Levitt, with Mumford & Sons.

Jimmy Kimmel is hosting the 64th annual event Sunday night, and he is promising “the biggest prank ever pulled” during the show. It’s a great promotional perch for him, on the eve of his talk show’s move to 11:35 p.m. in January. The ABC red carpet show starts at 7, E!’s starts at 5.
