The Good Wife Sunday at 9 p.m., Channel 4
Season four begins on Sunday, and it will feature . . . Kalinda’s husband! Her estranged husband, of course. He’ll be played by one of my favorite under-the-radar actors, a Brit named Marc Warren (pictured). Warren was in “Band of Brothers,” and he was one of the leads in “Hustle,” a really entertaining series about a team of con artists (definitely check it out if you think you’d like a smart version of “Leverage”). He also stood out in a “Masterpiece” adaptation of “Oliver Twist,” in which he played Monks, a character usually left out of movie adaptations of the novel. He’s good at playing slimy, dangerous types.
Dexter Sunday at 9 p.m., Showtime
I was ready to let go of “Dexter” after last season, which was dull and poorly acted. But then the Deb twist was irresistible. I’ve watched the first two episodes of the new season, which premieres on Sunday, and they are worthwhile. Dexter is still killing sloppily, which weakens the show, but the material between him and his sister is compelling. The show goes there, and doesn’t back up. Pictured: Jennifer
Carpenter as Deb and Michael C. Hall as Dexter.
