My Shopping Addiction 11 p.m., Oxygen

This show brings in telegenic therapists David Tolin and Ramani Durvasula (right) to help people in self-made financial crises. Catfish: The TV Show 11 p.m., MTV

Many viewers and critics wondered if Nev Schulman’s 2010 movie “Catfish” was more fake than real. It was presented as a documentary, so the action shouldn’t have been simulated unless noted. Schulman’s “Catfish: The TV Show” is a reality series, though, and as such, some fakery is expected at this point in the genre. I like this show; it gets at the way we fashion selves online, and how those selves differ from who we really are. Pictured: Schulman (left) and Max Joseph.
