Lifetime Television

Finding Mrs. Claus Sunday at 9 p.m., Lifetime

You've got to love holiday TV movies. They're unapologetically bad and schmaltzy, despite the fact that we live in rather cynical times. This one stars Mira Sorvino, who won an Oscar for "Mighty Aphrodite," as the wife of the big man. She's feeling neglected by Santa, who is played by Will Sasso, so she goes to Las Vegas to help a kid get her Christmas wish.

Boardwalk Empire Sunday at 9 p.m., HBO

Why does this show keep killing off its best characters? Still, "Boardwalk Empire" has had a strong if uneven season. The overall plot of Nucky's possible downfall has been rote, but the side stories — of Margaret and Owen, Richard and Julia, Gillian and Scarecrow Jimmy — have been engaging and mysterious. Sunday night, the series finishes up season 3, and HBO has already renewed it for season 4. That probably means a cliffhanger or two.
