PICK OF THE DAY

He bares his soul Excessive repetition and “durational performances” could describe a legislative session, but we’re talking about Ragnar Kjartansson. The Icelandic musician and artist is in town Thursday for a performance of “An die Musik” in conjunction with his exhibit “Ragnar Kjartansson: Song.” You’ll get four hours of Franz Schubert’s ode to art — again and again and again and again — with help from Davíð Þór Jónsson and Boston-area singers and pianists. The exhibit of song-filled videos span Iceland to American blues and explore reality vs. fiction. Dec. 12 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. (through April 7). $15, $13 seniors, $10 students, free for 17 and under (free Dec. 13 from 5-9 p.m. in conjunction with free concert). Institute of Contemporary Art, 100 Northern Ave., Boston. 617-478-3103. www.icaboston.org
