Katherine Bomboy-Thornton/ABC via AP

Nashville 10 p.m., Channel 5

The World According to Dick Cheney 6:30 p.m., Showtime

HBO has a strong documentary component, and now Showtime is ramping up its documentary end. That’s great news, and the cable channel has already had a hit with its two-parter about the Eagles.
