It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown 8 p.m., ABC

Imagine today’s Linus waiting in the pumpkin patch, posting photos on his Facebook page, texting his buds. The simplicity of Charles Schulz’s vision grows more appealing with each passing year. I was pleased to learn that Paul Feig, of “Bridesmaids” and “Freaks and Geeks,” is going to produce a big screen animated “Peanuts” that will premiere in 2015. “Growing up, ‘Peanuts’ was my ‘Star Wars,’” Feig told Deadline. “Charles Schulz’s characters influenced everything in my career, especially ‘Freaks And Geeks.’” Kim Kelly = Lucy?

The Crazy Ones 9 p.m., CBS

I keep rooting for David E. Kelley’s sitcom, because I like some of the cast members, namely James Wolk and Hamish Linklater. But so far, the episodes haven’t been very fresh. Occasionally Robin Williams and Wolk have a good time as the head of the ad agency and his mini-me, respectively, and the writers have kept Williams’s manic craziness at a minimum; but still, it’s just another predictable workplace comedy with hit-or-miss writing.
