Critic’s corner: What’s on TV this weekend

Drop Dead Diva Sunday, 9 p.m., Lifetime

This endearing and funny body-switch series kicks off its final season Sunday with a two-hour premiere episode. Brooke Elliott (above) has been so winning as Jane — a model who died in a car crash and returns in the body of a smart and sassy lawyer — it will be hard to say goodbye, but, alas, the series has run its course. In addition to guest visits from folks like Rick Springfield, S. Epatha Merkerson, John Ratzenberger, and Jay DeMarcus of Rascal Flatts we expect that the looming end means Jane and Grayson will finally have their moment.

Da Vinci’s Demons Saturday, 9 p.m., Starz

It’s about to go down in Florence on this series that explores a fictionalized version of Leonardo da Vinci’s early life during the Renaissance. Season two will find Leonardo (Tom Riley, above) continue to battle Rome, tangle with the Medici family, and search for the Book of Leaves.

Resurrection Sunday, 9 p.m., ABC

Anticipation exhumation.

Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey Sunday, 9 p.m., Fox

Newton and Halley.

House of Lies Sunday, 10 p.m., Showtime
