Casino bill in Massachusetts inspires a look at books about gambling

It appears that casino gambling is headed our way. A casino bill passed big time in the state House in September, and the Senate is about to rake in their own yes. For now, let’s skip the strong case against casinos: the specter of organized crime, perilous addictions, Michael Bolton concerts. Some 32 states have already said hit me, but are casino owners interested in us? “We’re a 1.8 billion dollar market and they’re all salivating,’’ says state Senator Stan Rosenberg, a Democrat from Amherst.
