Mindy Kaling: Comedy writer and actor

Mindy Kaling, Cambridge native and former high school Latin whiz, has covered a lot of ground since she left these environs. She joined “The Office’’ writing team at 24, then the cast as the unabashedly shallow Kelly Kapoor and now at 32 is co-executive producer. Her new memoir, “Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me?,’’ recounts, among other things, her fast-track comedy career.
