This awards list will, with time, for what it chose to ignore, augment as an example of vacuity preferred, over work that speaks to vital and significant  themes, that penetrate to the soul of America's professed ideals. Granted the track record of the Academy is by and large dismal in these matters.  But its not a good day when that kind of opportunity is squandered so flagrantly.
