DVD reviews: ‘History of the Eagles’

HISTORY OF THE EAGLES Hate the band or love it, you can’t dispute that the Eagles were the kings of California rock. “Their Greatest Hits (1971-1975)” has sold upwards of 32 million copies. This three-disc set, produced by Oscar-winning documentarian Alex Gibney, includes four hours of previously unseen footage. Disc one follows the band through its ’70s heyday. Disc two takes them through post-breakup acrimony, reunion tours, and on to the present. Disc three comprises a complete 1977 concert, at the height of their “Hotel California” fame. (Jigsaw Productions, $34.99; $39.99, Blu-ray; $299.99, super deluxe limited edition)
