Atlas Soul makes worlds collide — and party

Atlas Soul is an eight-member band that blends North African music, primarily the rai and shaabi styles, with jazz, reggae, and more. It’s an eclectic crew, mixing immigrants and locals, with songs in Arabic, French, and English, though snippets of Hebrew and Italian also creep in. The band’s fourth self-released CD will be out later this summer and they’ll preview the new songs tomorrow at Regattabar. Siddhartha Mitter checks in with the band at a recent rehearsal.
