Guitar god Steve Kimock meets keyboard king Bernie Worrell

The Steve Kimock Band with Bernie Worrell, drummer Wally Ingram, and bassist Andy Hess performs Monday at the Middle East in Cambridge. The uncharacteristically low-key guitar god overhauled the previous incarnation of the Steve Kimock Band, which had more of a progressive rock lean. With Worrell, a driving force in George Clinton’s Parliament-Funkadelic camp, Kimock finds himself moving toward music with a greater degree of lightheartedness. Scott McLennan talks to the two musicians in advance of their performance.
