Hilary Hahn and Hauschka give themselves room to improv

Violinist Hilary Hahn and pianist/composer Hauschka met in 2009 and took to each other, artistically. Over the next two years, they created music wherever they could - in the same city when their travels coincided, swapping files when they couldn’t. Originally Hahn thought that they would work out ideas and write them out. “But it would up being better for us to just improvise.” On June 21, they perform selections from the collaborative album “Silfra” at the Institute for Contemporary Art.
